I told you the other day that I hardly ever go shopping. I think I lied. Well, I didn't lie when I said it. I hadn't hardly bought anything for months and then as soon as I let myself anywhere near the shops, I went a little crazy. Kind of like going on a juice fast for a month then letting loose in a lolly shop. Not the best idea. There are always consequences after the initial euphoria wears off. There would be a belly-ache after the candy store and in my case there was a gaping hole in my bank account and some fast talking to do to the cranky husband when I got home.
It wasn't my plan when I ventured to the shops for an hour on Saturday afternoon. I had a few returns to take back and I was going to get a pair of heels I'd had my eyes on for a couple of weeks and then go to a beauty appointment. That was all. It didn't quite work out that way. I walked past Ally and thought I would take a quick look as 'research' to see what was in fashion. I came out with a purple high-necked shift dress with an a-line skirt. I hate purple. But the dress was so cute and fitted me so well I just had to get it. Then I realised I could wear it to the engagement party I had to go to that night and decided it needed a necklace to go with it. So I went to Diva and bought a very cute silver metal collar to complement the high neck. I also needed tights as I knew it would be cold and while purchasing them at Cosmetics Plus I found a cool nail polish with blue glitter chunks and the black crackle polish I've been wanting to try (essentials of course).
Then I realised it was only 20 minutes before my appointment and I hadn't bought my shoes yet! So I hurried to the store and on my way to the register spotted a gorgeous bright green party dress I had seen a few weeks before and had fallen in love with. "I'll just try it on", I thought to myself. "It won't suit me anyway so no harm done". Wrong. I fell in love with it and just had to get it. I could wear that to the party instead! I was so excited until I walked out of the store and started adding up all of my 'little' purchases that day. Uh Oh, those little purchases can really sneak up on you! Oh well, it was fun at the time and will continue to be as I enjoy my shiny new things!
Here are some pics of my new green dress (more about how awesome it really is to follow!) and my hot pink peel toe heels. They are oh so high (!) but absolutely gorgeous.
Question of the day: When have you had spenders regret?!
